Executive Board Meeting Minutes

President Larry Roberts called the meeting to order at 11:00 am at the AFL-CIO Bldg. There was a roll call of the officers by Cathy Robbins. There was a

quorum.

Old Business from October 17, 2009:

 

 

  1. The Executive Board Minutes from September 19, 2009 were distributed for review and questions.  A motion was made by Sister Cathy Robbins to accept the Executive Board Minutes from September. (Motion passed)

 

  1. A motion was made and seconded for the local to purchase 20 turkeys for November, and 15 turkeys, 10 hams, and 1 hen for December. (Motion passed)

 

  1. A motion was made that the local donate $75 for the Kirk McManus retirement party. (Motion passed)

 

  1. A motion was made that the local donate $200 to the gymnastics team affiliated with Peggy Stevens –member in good standing. (Motion passed)

 

  1. A motion was made that the local spend up to $6,500 for the local’s annual Christmas party. (Motion passed)

 

  1. The APWU Annual Christmas Party will be December 12th at the Lion’s Club in Pflugerville.

 

  1. There was a discussion about treasurer Dan Hillis working on a budget.

 

  1. There was a discussion about the recent resignation of APWU National Secretary-Treasurer Terry Stapleton.

New Business:

 

 

  1. The Executive Board Minutes from October were distributed for review and questions.  A motion was made to accept the Executive Board Minutes from September. (Motion passed)

 

  1. Brother Monte Lane made a motion that the local pay 8hrs of Union LWOP to Health Plan Representative Al Garcia for his work during the health fair. (Motion passed)

 

  1. A motion was made in behalf of Sister Betty Phillips that the local donate $300 to the Turkey Leg Buyer’s Club. (Motion passed)

 

  1. Treasurer Dan Hillis proposed budget was passed out to the executive board for review and questions.  A motion was made to accept the proposed budget. (Motion passed)

 

  1. There was a discussion about the funds Brother George Roman owes to the local.

 

  1. There was a discussion about members-at-large.

 

  1. Brother Roy Vasquez reports that the Annual Christmas Party will be held at the Pflugerville.

 

 

A motion was made to adjourn.
