Membership Meeting Minutes

President
Larry Roberts called the meeting to order at 12:00 pm at the AFL-CIO Bldg.
Brother Rick Robbins led the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a roll call of the officers by Cory L.
Purifoy. There was a quorum.

1. The General Membership Minutes from October were provided to the members for review and questions. A motion was made by Brother Al Garcia to accept the minutes from October. (Motion passed) 2. The Financial Report from October was provided to the members for review and questions. A motion was made by Sister Cathy Robbins to accept the Financial Report from October. (Motion passed)
3.
The Executive Board brought forth a request before the
General Membership that the local purchase a (1) year trial membership in the
amount of $950 for Cyber Fed Search Program. (Motion passed)
4.
The Executive Board brought forth a request before the
General Membership that the local pay up to $70 to any delegate who attended the
National Convention in

The Executive Board brought forth a request before the
General Membership that the local pay 8hrs of LWOP to Health Plan Representative
Al Garcia for his work during the Health Fair. (Motion passed)
6.
The Executive Board brought forth a request before the
General Membership that the local pay half of the current amount as a “bounty”
for signing up new transfers. (Motion passed)
7.
There
was a discussion about “Excessing.” Provisions in Article 12 of the National
Agreement cover “Excessing.” President Roberts intends to meet with employees
that received notification letters from the employer.
8.
There
was a discussion about the NRP Process.
9.
There
was a discussion about the recent retirement announcement of Postmaster General
Potter.
10.
There
was a discussion about contract negotiations at the National.
11.
APWU
is expecting some type of negative action from Republicans who want reduce “Big
Government” especially the Postal Service.

There
was a discussion about 5-Day Delivery.
13.
There
was a discussion about how low mail volumes and increased technologies have
impacted the Postal Service.
14.
There
was a discussion about the recent voting turnout from among local members.
