Executive Board Meeting Minutes

2/19/11

 

President Larry Roberts called the meeting to order at 11:05 am at the AFL-CIO Bldg. There was a roll call of the officers by Secretary Cory L. Purifoy. There was a quorum.

 

Excused Absent: John Mercado, Jesse Benavides, Leonard Lara

 

Unexcused Absent: n/a

 

New Business:

 

  1. The Executive Board Minutes from December were distributed for review and questions.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the Executive Board Minutes from December. (Motion passed)

 

  1. VP Linda Daniel made a motion that the local donate $250 to the 4H Club. (Motion passed)

 

  1. Brother Monte Lane made a motion that the local donate $250 to the Balcones Softball League. (Motion passed)

 

  1. Brother Roy Vasquez made a motion that the local spend up to $4,000 for the APWU Picnic. (Motion passed)

 

  1. There was a discussion to cancel the January meeting. A motion was made and seconded to cancel the January meeting -after the fact. (Motion passed)

 

  1. There was a discussion about the APWU State Convention which will be held in Dallas, Texas in the month of June.

 

  1. There was a discussion about the local’s constitution.

 

  1. There was a discussion about the “dues rebate” to APWU Stewards.

 

  1. There was a discussion about voting on Lockhart postal workers joining local 299.

 

A motion was made to adjourn.
