General Membership Minutes

July 16, 2011  

 

President Larry Roberts called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. at the AFL-CIO building. There was a quorum. A tape recorder was not used. George Roman led the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a roll call of the officers by Secretary Jacque Brock.

  1. A motion was made and seconded to table the June minutes until the August meeting.

 

 

  1. The Financial Reports from Dec. 2010, Feb. 2011 and June 2011 were provided to the General Membership for review and questions.  A motion was made to accept the Financial Reports. (motion passed).

 

 

  1. There was a discussion of a trial board hearing per Article 15 for the allegations of the misuse of APWU credit card. Pres. Roberts appointed the following to the committee: John Mercado, Trish Holmes, Lanelle Chernosky, John Castillo, Robert Olvera, Cheryl Sweeney. Pres. Larry Roberts, Exect. V.P. Linda Daniels, Treasurer Dan Hillis, and Secretary Jacque Brock would also be present.

 

 

  1. A motion was made and seconded to pay committee for the trial board hearing up to 8 hours of LWOP (motion passed).

 

 

  1. A motion was made and seconded to send 9 people at $1000. each to the All Craft Conference in October in Las Vegas.

 

 

  1. A motion was made and seconded to sponsor two teams at $50. a team for the NALC Spike for a Cure volleyball tournament August 27th (motion passed)

 

 

  1. There was a discussion about the USPS commercial.

 

 

  1. There was a discussion about the Non-Traditional jobs.

 

 

  1. Brother Roy Vasquez reported that Austin Local 299 presented a check for $1077 to COPA at the State Convention in June.
