Executive Board Meeting Minutes

12/18/10

President Larry Roberts called the meeting to order at 11:03 am at the AFL-CIO Bldg. There was a roll call of the officers by Secretary Cory L. Purifoy. There was a quorum.

Excused Absent: Joe Aaron

Unexcused Absent: Leonard Lara

New Business:

1. The Executive Board Minutes from November were distributed for review and questions. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Executive Board Minutes from November. (Motion passed)

2. President Larry Roberts made a request in behalf of Bro. George Urch that the local donate $100 for a full page ad in his daughter’s Round Rock Dragons Soccer program booklet. A motion was made to donate $100 to Bro. Urch daughter’s soccer program booklet. (Motion passed)

3. There was a discussion about a future picnic for the local.

4. President Roberts made a “symbolic” motion that would authorize him to take any and all actions necessary including pickets and court actions to fight against any attacks on the union steward program by the United States Postal Service. A motion was made to accept President Roberts “symbolic” motion. (Motion passed)

5. There was a discussion about future local negotiations.

6. Treasurer Dan Hillis provided the local “Profit and Loss Budget Overview” for review and questions. A motion was made and seconded to accept the treasurer’s budget. (Motion passed)

7. Bro. Roy Vasquez provided a report about the success of the local’s Christmas Party. He reported that the local saved $350 and was under the allotted budget of $6,500.

8. Bro. Roy Vasquez reported that the local raised $550 for COPA.

9. There was a discussion about the Postal Service considering a plan to restructure the current districts.

A motion was made to adjourn.
