Membership Meeting Minutes

Vice-President
Linda Daniel called the meeting to order at 12:08 pm at the AFL-CIO Bldg.
Sister Michelle Gatewood led the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a roll call of the officers by Cory L.
Purifoy. There was a quorum.

1. The General Membership Minutes from November were provided to the members for review and questions. A motion was made to accept the minutes from November. (Motion passed) 2. The Financial Report from November was provided to the members for review and questions. A motion was made by Sister Cathy Robbins and seconded by Robert Olvera to accept the Financial Report from November. (Motion passed)
3.
The Executive Board brought forth a request before the
General Membership that the local donate $100 to Bro. George Urch daughter’s
Round Rock Dragons Soccer program booklet. (Motion passed)
4.
There
was a discussion about the local’s Christmas Doughnuts.
5.
President
Roberts spoke about his “symbolic” motion that does not require the General
Membership’s vote. President Robert’s “symbolic” motion gives him the authority
to take any and all action necessary to fight attacks made against the union steward
program.

Membership Meeting temporarily suspended at 12:30pm for the turkey and ham drawings.

was a discussion about CFS.

There
was a discussion about the USPS and the National APWU placing a moratorium on
all “excessing” inside and outside of the installation until after the
holidays.

There
was a discussion about the new FMLA regulations. The new FMLA regulations
require employees to use the Department of Labor’s forms. Also, employees must
provide documentation when requesting paid FMLA leave.
9.
There
was a discussion about the “Republican” takeover of the House.
