General Membership Minutes

December 17, 2005

 

President Roberts called meeting to order at 12:06pm at the AFL-CIO building.  A quorum was present and a tape recorder was used.  The Pledge of Allegiance was said by the membership.  Members present:  36.  The secretary made roll call of the officers. 

Excused absent:  George Roman, Leonard Lara, and Monte Lane

 

The November general membership minutes were passed out to the membership.  A motion was made by Brother Ben Solis to accept the minutes.  Motion passes by the general membership.  The November financial report was passed out to the membership.  A motion was made by Brother Ben Solis and second to accept the report.  Motion passes by the general membership.

 

Unfinished Business:

  1. The Christmas/Installation party will be on December 18, 2005 at 12noon-6pm.

 

New Business:

  1. A motion passed by the E-BD to pay Sister Cathy Robbins 8 hours of LWOP for the March primary election.  Motion passes by the general membership.

  2. The E-BD passed a resolution to designate the December general membership meeting to our Austin Area Local retirees, which are, Brothers James Wilson, Ivan Lockinggen, and Ken Flemings.

 

A motion was made and second to accept the new members.  Motion passes by the general membership.  Steve Humes    Maribel Moran     Sonda Allen   Addison Eaddy

 

There was no barrel for the door prize drawing.  The drawing will be done next meeting.  A COPA raffle was held and 1st prize winner was Al Garcia- $80.00 and 2nd prize winner was Barbara Abercrombie- $30.00.  The total raised for COPA was $80.00.

 

Sister Peggy Stevens spoke about her back grievances, keeping personal items in her locker, signing in and out round date stamp, and signing in and out the scanners.
