General Membership Minutes

November 19, 2005

 

President Roberts called meeting to order at 12:10pm at the AFL-CIO building.  A quorum was present and a tape recorder was used.  The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Brother George Roman.  Members present:  50.  The secretary made roll call of the officers.  All officers were present.  The October general membership minutes were passed out to the membership.  A motion was made by Brother Robert Olvera and second to accept the minutes.  Motion passes by the general membership.  The October financial report was passed out to the membership.  A motion was made by Sister Cathy Robbins and second to accept the report.  Motion passes by the general membership.

 

Unfinished Business:

  1. A motion was passed by the E-BD to add $1000.00 to the Christmas/Installation party’s budget, which will make the budget up to $7000.00.  Motion passes by the general membership.

  2. A motion was passed by the E-BD to spend up to $18,000.00 for an updated copier for the cubicle.  Motion passes by the general membership.

 

Brother George Roman spoke on the APWU Health Plan.  The Health fair will be November 22, 2005.  Also, Sister Cathy Robbins spoke on the AFL-CIO Austin Labor Council meeting.  President Roberts spoke on the Causal-in-lieu of settlement, discussion about the biohazards scared at the Austin Plant, and the AAPS machine.

Door prize drawing was held and no winner for this month.  Next month $75.00.
