E-BD Minutes

September 17, 2005

President Roberts called meeting to order at 11:10am at the AFL-CIO building.  The secretary made roll call of the officers.

Excused absent:  Dan Hillis, Cecil Reed, and Cathy Robbins

The July E-BD minutes were passed out to the officers.  A motion was made by Brother Willie Sugg and second to accept the minutes.  Motion pass.

New Business:

1. A motion was made by Brother Ben Solis and second to combine the Installation Banquet, Christmas Party, and a training seminar on December 17-18, 2005 and spend up to $6000.00.  Motion pass.

2. A motion was made by Brother George Roman and second to be given a 2-day stipend at $300.00 to attend the Health Plan Seminar on October 19-21, 2005.  Motion pass.

3. A motion by Brother Leonard Lara and second to donate $195.00 to the Austin Thunder Softball team for the Post Office State Tournament at Woodland, TX on October 10, 2005.  Motion pass.

4. A motion by Brother George Roman and second to re-supply the local’s T-Shirts and aprons up to $2000.00.  Motion pass.

The officers discussed Hurricane Katrina and the affected it had on the Postal Workers.  They also discussed causal-in-lieu of and the removal of Human Resource in the Austin Plant.

Meeting adjourned at 12:03pm.
