E-BD Minutes

April 15, 2006

President Roberts called meeting to order at 11:12am at the AFL-CIO building.  The secretary made roll call of the officers.

Excused absent:  Monte Lane, Jim Nettles, and George Roman

Unexcused absent:  Leonard Lara

The March E-BD minutes were passed out to the officers.  A motion was made by Brother Willie Sugg and second to accept the minutes with the corrections.  Motion pass.

Corrections:  NB#3- Motion made by Sister Linda Daniel and add NB#5- a motion was made and second to donate $500.00 to the ACS East Austin Relay for Life.  Motion pass.

New Business:

1. A motion was made by President Roberts and second to set a side $10,000.00 war chest fund for ads, picketing, and media about the Postal Consolidations.  Motion pass.

2. A motion was made by Brother Ben Solis and second to apply $500.00 seed money for Tony Nunez fundraiser.  Motion pass.  Committee members are Brother Roy Vasquez, Sister Linda Daniel, and Sister Cathy Robbins.

3. A motion was made by Brother Ben Solis and second to donate $100.00 to the Salvation Army in behalf of Brother Jeff Regal for fixing the union’s computers.  Motion pass.

President Roberts talked about an information picket, security gate, safety issues, handicap parking when the security gate is activated and COPA.  He also stated that at the May General Membership meeting we would be electing the 4 clerk alternatives for the 2006 APWU National Convention. 

Meeting adjourned at 11:52am.
