E-BD Minutes

December 16, 2006


President Roberts called the E-BD meeting to order at 11:05am at the AFL-CIO building. Roll call was made.

Excused absent: Calvin Smith, Willie Sugg, and Patricia Mercado


Unfinished Business:

  1. Mrs. Johnson’s Bakery changed the dates for the annual donuts to December 20th and 21st. The coffee and donuts will be in the cafeteria at the GMF and station deliveries.

  2. Brother Ben Solis spoke about the upcoming benefit raffle for Brother Leonard Lara. 1st prize- $500.00 2nd prize- $300.00 3rd prize- A signed Houston Oilers Jersey by Earl Campbell 4th prize- an autographed U.T. helmet.

  3. The officers spoke about the APWU Christmas party.


New Business:

  1. President Roberts spoke about Mr. Harry James presenting an OWCP seminar in January 2007. A motion was made and second to cancel the January general membership meeting in order to have Mr. James to present a seminar for all interested APWU members. The seminar will be held on January 20, 2007 at 9:30am at the AFL-CIO building. Motion pass.

  2. President Roberts spoke about the USPS toy drive. A motion was made and second to donate $500.00 to help out in the name of the Local. Motion pass.

  3. TPWU is having a multi-craft seminar in San Antonio in February 2007. Brother Ben Solis made a motion and it was second to spend up to $550.00 per person to send up to ten interested stewards to the seminar. Motion pass.


The meeting adjourned at 11:38am. I would like to thank Sister Linda Daniel for taking the minutes while I was absent from the meeting.
