General Membership Minutes

February 18, 2006

 

President Roberts called meeting to order at 12:17pm at the AFL-CIO building.  A quorum was present and a tape recorder was used.  The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Brother George Roman.  Members present:  30.  The secretary made roll call of the officers.

Excused absent:  Ben Solis and Monte Lane

 

The December general membership minutes were passed out to the membership.  A motion was and second to accept the minutes.  Motion passes by the general membership.

The December financial report was passed out to the membership.  A motion was made and second to accept the report.  Motion passes by the general membership.  The January financial report was passed out to the membership.  A motion was made and second to accept the report.  Motion passes by the general membership.  A motion was made by Sister Cathy Robbins and second to suspense the regular order of business for a special guest Mary Beth Harrell, a democratic for Congress.  Motion passes by the general membership.

 

Unfinished Business:

  1. Brother Roy Vasquez reported that Austin Area Local turned in $600.00 at the Secretary/Treasurer Seminar in Houston, TX for COPA.

  2. The East Austin Basketball players that the local donated money to were presented and made a report about the tournament.

 

New Business:

  1. A motion approved by the E-BD to donate $200.00 to the National All Star Football Bowl for a member’s son.  Motion failed by the general membership.

  2. A motion approved by the E-BD to pay Brother George Roman $150.00 stipend for putting on the Health Plan Seminar.  Motion passes by the general membership.

 

President Roberts spoke on craft jurisdiction of the modified AFSM 100, spreading of the mail, and the APPS machine.  Questions about PTF conversions and payment on signed agreement.  Door prize drawing for the month of December:  F Caplon   M Elder   G Brown   R Smith    J Brock- winner!!!   $75.00.   Door prize drawing for the month of February:  G Stack house   C Vega   G Blahuta   A Fleming   P Combies   T Council   C Woodliff   R Aparicio   CA Delgado   S James   N Watson   R DeLeon   N Young   N Velasquez   WO Heine   J Bridges   W Jones   N Manor   F Rodriguez   F Cornelius

No winner.  Next month $75.00.  A motion was made and second to accept the new members.  Motion passes by the general membership.  Fernando Espinosa   Crystal Richmond    Luz Garcia    Lisa McMiller    Eligio Davila    Ronald Mastan    Florence Gray.   Winner for the COPA drawing:  Charles Colunga- $32.00   Charles Colunga- $22.00   Total raised for COPA $54.00.
