General Membership Minutes

June 17, 2006

 

President Roberts called meeting to order at 12:20pm at the AFL-CIO building.  A quorum was present and a tape recorder was used.  The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Brother George Roman.  Members present:  22.  The secretary made roll call of the officers.

Excused Absent:  Calvin Smith, Barbara Abercrombie, Linda Daniel, Cecil Reed, and Leonard Lara

Unexcused absent:  Monte Lane

 

The May general membership minutes were passed out to the membership.  A motion was made by Brother Robert Olvera and second to accept the minutes with the corrections.  May new business add Brother Calvin Smith is the coach of the Texas Mustang.  Motion passes by the general membership.  The May financial report was passed out to the membership.  A motion was made by Brother Jim Nettles and second to accept the report.  Motion passes by the general membership.  A motion was made by Sister Cathy Robbins and second to suspense the regular order of business to here from Karen Felthauser, running for Texas State Representative District 52.  Motion passes by the general membership.  A moment of silence for member Brother Michael Brown who passed away June 1, 2006.

 

Unfinished Business:

  1. The trustees made their report to the membership.

 

New Business:

  1. A motion passes by the E-BD to spend $100.00 for a gift basket for the TPWU Educational Conference silent auction.  Motion passes by the general membership.

 

President Roberts discuss the following subjects:  time keeping at the station, station issues, BUW, retirement, worker comp, FMLA, PTF conversion, AASP machine, CFS mail, and COPA.
