E-BD Minutes

March 18, 2006

President Roberts called meeting to order at 11:14am at the AFL-CIO building.  The secretary made roll call of the officers.

Excused absent:  Cathy Robbins and Monte Lane

Unexcused absent:  Cecil Reed

The February E-BD minutes were passed out to the officers.  A motion was made by Brother Calvin Smith and second to accept the minutes.  Motion pass.

New Business:

1. A motion was made by Brother Ben Solis and second to send 6 clerks, 2 maintenance, 1 motor vehicle and the President to the 2006 APWU National Convention at $2000.00 a piece.  Motion pass.

2. A motion was made by Brother Roy Vasquez and second to put a $65.00 deposit for the Austin Area Local Picnic at Richard Moya Park.  Motion pass.

3. A motion was made by President Roberts and second to donate $500.00 to the Williamson County Crisis Center.  Motion pass.

4. A motion was made by Brother Roy Vasquez and second to have a membership drive with a drawing to Las Vegas, NV not to exceed $800.00 to be awarded at the September meeting.  Motion pass.

President Roberts spoke about COPA, hiring at the Postal Service, and changes at the Plant.

Meeting adjourned at 12:02pm.
